A Sweater a Month in 2007?

Right.

But, here she is! In continuation of my ever-so-creative names for my FOs, I'm calling this one the Herringbone Sweater. Thrilling.

I promise you my head is not that large. Bird the photographer is very very tall.

Now fully back in the accademia mindset, overall, I'd give it a B+/A-. I had visions of the scoopneck being a little, well, scoopier, but the result is more like a deep boatneck. The fit is very fitted, but I have faith it will stretch a bit with wear, and I can ever re-block it a smidgen bigger, but I would prefer a snug fit over too loose. I love the chartreuse buttons, and think they give it a little pop. (What can I say, I love me the grey. Its everywhere in my knitting). I am happy with the herringbone slipped stitch pattern, and like the tightness of the stockinette. I think it will be a good change to my every-day-hoodie regime.

Specs:
Cascade 220 #5425 Charcoal Grey, less than 1 ball and #8401 Light Grey Heather, Slightly less than 4 balls.
Pattern: Herringbone stitch from Barbara Walker, stockinette back and sleeves, raglan decreases and fold-over hem at sleeves. I knit the sleeves in the round and the back separate and the joined at the armhole and knit the raglan decreases back and forth. The front was knit separately and then seamed. I then picked up the stitches for the button band after knitting the collar and at the hem and knit the ribbing down in the round to the desired length.
Needles: Size 4 knitpicks circulars, magic loop for sleeves and back, size 5 Clover bamboo for front. Size 2 knitpicks circs for ribbing.
Gauge: 21 sts and 30 rows = 4" in stst on sz 4 needles.
Start Date: Sometime mid November, 2006.
Finished: January 17th, 2007

Here's a photo of what I was talking about last post with inspiration for the Sisik sweater. I swatched a few stitch patterns last night, and think I figured everything else out, but I can't decide how I want to do the front if I want a separate panel, or somehow create a false seam instead. I may use Elizabeth Zimmermanns idea about the dropped stitch/false seam she talks about in Knitter's Almanac. I think eveything else will be pretty straightforward, though.
