Never Enough.

I have been trying to pinpoint when it all began, but I still can't tell exactly when I became obsessed with what I am now sure is best described as Martha Stewart Mint Gelato green. I think it started with a pair of mint leather ballet flats I bought in Italy, then progressed to the swallowtail I knit last July, some Vans I bought on sale over the summer and then my determination to find the perfect color to paint our bathroom. Since then I have spent the last 7 months collecting. Hoarding. Obsessing.

Swallowtail Shawl - Pastimes Soysilk

My bathroom. Print by Ali Osborn

Mangham Farm Rediculously Simple Scarf

Jade Sapphire Cashmere Lace

SKnitches Kettle Drum - Mist

Morehouse Farm DK Merino - Robin's Egg

Mama Blue Knitting Goods Merino Sock - Pistachio

February Me Sweater - Misti Alpaca Chunky

I think the Mama Blue Pistachio is probably the perfect color. It embodies what I have been searching for, and since aquiring it not too long ago, I think I am done buying weird off mint green yarn. For now.

The February Me Sweater is my interpretation of Juliet. I had it going strong to right before the switch to lace under the bust, but ended up pulling back and starting a different lace pattern much earlier. I realized a few rows in that it is the same lace pattern used in Orangina, so considered calling to Orange Julius (oh, the Wit and Charm) but soon realized it looks a lot like the February Baby Sweater. I am 2 balls in and about 3" down on the body. I plan on doing a garter border and using cherry red buttons and make little I -Cord lasp/frog/toggle thingers.

Spring break is here! Bird (Opus, Rollie) and I are going up to VT on Tues night -- via NYC and Western MA -- but until then I have big plans which include hemming a dress I started over a month ago, knitting, preparing the backyard for pre-planting of the garden and, honestly, not much else. We have a visitor here this week, Money the pitt bull. He is visiting from Brooklyn while his dad gets to go to Florida and is the sweetest little pigoo ever. It has been good for Opus to get some alternate socialization -- I also plan on bringing him to Rosie's on Sun for work -- and interesteing to watch the game of musical beds every night. Never a dull moment here.

Thanks for humoring me and answering my little survey. #5 was the resounding winner, so #5 it will be! I hope to start the sweater asap, but am waiting on some more of the grey Kathmandu (I had to ebay a few more balls in the dyelot I had).

I love all the green! My bedroom is all in greens and chocolate browns. I'm a little obesessed with the color. I have to have a green bedroom and I told my boyfriend that when we moved in together. Every other room he had a say in but not that room.

Money might be the coolest dog name ever. He would be a pit bull from Brooklyn!

Hitting up Webs?

I love all your off-mint greens! I have also been collecting a strange off kilter shade of green in yarn form. My green is a sort of grey-green.
It's not a great picture but this: http://www.ravelry.com/people/alligator/stash/zweena-yarns-heathers
Is the closest I've gotten so far.
Have fun on your trip!

Holy Whoa -- I went to college with Ali Osborn!
I know what you mean about searching for the perfect mint green -- I find myself going back to the same colors, which are usually inspired by dairy desserts (mint chip ice cream, strawberry milk shakes, etc) -- all of your knitting is lovely, and the colors are perfect!

I LOVE those colors! I've been eyeing some Morehouse Merino lace in that very same colorway! It's so springy and happy.
